About the Pokémon

Scoop Up is an early Trainer card designed to return a Pokémon's Basic card from play to the hand under its printed rules. Its theme is recovery and repositioning. This original version is a separate collecting entry from later scoop-themed cards with different wording, illustrations and classifications.

About the Expansion

Released in Japan on 20 October 1996, Expansion Pack established the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside its starter product. Its Kanto Pokémon, Trainer cards and Energy cards introduced the game's foundational structure. The original Japanese Pocket Monsters card back places these cards at the beginning of the TCG's collecting history.

Artwork & Collector's Notes

Keiji Kinebuchi is credited for this Expansion Pack illustration of Scoop Up. The non-holo finish, original Pocket Monsters reverse and Japanese text identify this printing. This Trainer has no printed collector number; English checklist numbers should not be assigned to it.
