About the Pokémon
Alakazam is the Psi Pokémon, recorded as No. 065 in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation I, associated with the Kanto generation of games. Its extraordinary intellect is central to its Pokédex descriptions. It evolves from Kadabra. Its species identity is shared across its different TCG appearances.
About the Expansion
Base Set launched the English-language Pokémon Trading Card Game in January 1999, adapting Japan's original Expansion Pack. Its 102-card checklist combines Kanto Pokémon with the Trainer and Energy cards that established the early game. Unlimited printing belongs to this original expansion, rather than the later Base Set 2 release.
Artwork & Collector's Notes
Ken Sugimori illustrates this Rare Holo version of Alakazam. Number 1/102 identifies the holofoil print in Base Set, separately from other rarities and numbered versions. The unlimited edition is recorded explicitly alongside its English-language card back.
