About the Pokémon
Nidoking is the Drill Pokémon, recorded as No. 034 in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation I, associated with the Kanto generation of games. Its powerful tail is an important part of its fighting style. It evolves from Nidorino.
About the Expansion
Released in Japan on 20 October 1996, Expansion Pack established the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside its starter product. Its Kanto Pokémon, Trainer cards and Energy cards introduced the game's foundational structure. The original Japanese Pocket Monsters card back places these cards at the beginning of the TCG's collecting history.
Artwork & Collector's Notes
Ken Sugimori is credited for this Expansion Pack illustration of Nidoking. The holofoil finish, original Pocket Monsters reverse and Japanese text identify this printing. The No. 034 identifier is a Pokédex number, not an English set checklist position.
